ABOUT

Jacqui aka Sugarbelly

My blessings are about to rain down! #I

First, I want to give thanks and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the head of my life! I want to thank my mother, Lillian, for being my first teacher in the culinary arts and in life. Also, I want to thank the late, Mrs. Lula Green, a home economics teacher who taught in Stamford, Connecticut, public schools for taking me under her wing as well.  Mrs. Green mentored me and help me develop my pallet for food.  “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.  (Probverbs 22:6).”

Many of you are going to ask “where did the name ‘Sugarbelly’s’ come from?”  Well, I’m glad you asked.  “Sugarbelly” was a name that my neighbor, Mr. Leopald Baldie, would call me every time he saw me leaving the corner store.  Growing up in Norwalk, Connecticut, was an adventure within itself.  However, little did Mr. Baldie know, or, maybe he saw something special within me that would be birthed many years later in my life.  I cannot say for sure but I most certainly am very happy that he did.

Well, after much prayer and consideration, I decided to check and see if the domain name for Sugarbelly was taken.  The name was available and I purchased it!  Cost me a mint too!  (LOL…)  Anyway, from there, everything else is history --  Here we are today, Sugarbelly’s!
